Fort Edmonton Park is the largest living history park in Canada, reconstructing what life was like at the old Hudson's Bay Company fort and the surrounding town, circa 1885. The 158-acre park uses costumed interpreters in a historic setting to help visitors step back into the 19th century. The fort contains the entire fur trading post of 1846.

Outside the fort you will find a recreation of Edmonton's downtown of the late 1800s. Visit an authentic blacksmith shop, a saloon and a jail along 1885 Street. You’ll see a photography studio and firehouse on 1905 Street and relatively modern conveniences on 1920 Street.

Admission includes free rides on the steam train and streetcars. Horse-drawn wagon, streetcar, stagecoach and pony rides are available for a small additional fee. For an amazing experience, consider booking an overnight stay in the park at the restored 1920’s Hotel Selkirk.

Fort Edmonton is located on the southern side of the river at the corner of Fox Drive and Whitemud Drive.
