At Abbott School we create a safe, nurturing environment where each student will have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitude they need to be self-reliant, responsible, caring members of society.

Abbott School is a leader in unique education opportunities for its students and their families. At Abbott we currently have some exciting projects that students are participating in to help extend their educational experience.   
   
Healthy Living Study  
   
Students at Abbott are currently participating in a research study with a team from the University of Alberta to track fruit and vegetable consumption and exercise patterns. All staff and students are sporting Abbott School pedometers and track their activity levels and healthy food choices in personal journals. Abbott School is participating with other schools from Edmonton Public to determine socioeconomic impact on childrens' healthy lifestyles.  
   
Adopt A Player with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra  
   
Abbott School has been selected as one of ten schools to adopt a symphony player from the ESO. Students in grade four and five are currently working with their ESO player to compose an original work to be performed at an upcoming sharing concert at the Winspear Centre.  
   
Artist and Author in Residence  
   
Abbott is currently hosting both an Artist and Author in Residence. Each class at Abbott School is collaborating with these individuals to compose an original legend with original illustrations. We are hoping to publish some of this project once it has been completed. Visitors to our school can also view some of the exciting original murals created by our students and our artist in residence.
